Swimming Pool Chlorination

Since the 1970’s, we offered solutions for salt water pool chlorination, from the initial static polarity technology to the self-cleaning product based on current reversal technology.

Bid farewell to the discomfort of chlorine odor, irritated eyes, hair damage, and faded swimsuits, all stemming from excessive disinfection by-products and over-chlorination. Harnessing the power of common salt and electricity, our innovative approach consistently delivers the perfect amount of pure chlorine solution, ensuring a safe, simple, and cost-effective pool disinfection process.

At our core, we are dedicated to enhancing your recreational water quality while adhering to environmentally conscious practices.

The Benefits of Salt Chlorination are Multifold:

  •     Experience the luxury of silky-smooth pool water, elevating your swimming enjoyment to unparalleled heights.
  •     Ensures a steady generation of chlorine solution, effectively thwarting chlorine spikes and algae outbreaks.
  •     Say goodbye to the hassles of chemical storage and handling, as this solution minimizes these requirements.
  •     With an average lifespan of 3-5 years for our chlorinators, you'll find yourself making fewer trips to the pool store, as the chlorine is conveniently produced on-site.

Unlocking the Chemistry Behind Salt Chlorination

  Understanding the technical intricacies of salt chlorination is essential for maximizing its efficiency and efficacy in pool water treatment:

  • Activation Process: Upon energizing the salt chlorinator, electrodes initiate catalytic reactions with sodium chloride and water molecules at the anode and cathode surfaces, culminating in the generation of chlorine solution.
  • Chlorine Forms: The resulting chlorine exists primarily as hypochlorous acid and sodium hypochlorite within the pool water, with the proportion of each dependent on the water's pH level.
  • Recycling Mechanism: As the chlorine disinfectant fulfills its role by neutralizing pathogens and oxidizing organics/contaminants, it undergoes a cyclic transformation, reverting to its native state as salt (NaCl) dissolved in water.

Overall Chemistry Reaction:

NaCl + H2O + electricity --> NaOCl (disinfectant)

Primary Anode Reaction:     2 Cl- - 2 e-  ⇒ Cl2

Primary Cathode Reaction:  2H2O + 2 e- ⇒ H2 + 2 OH-

By utilizing these underlying chemical processes, pool owners and operators can effectively harness the power of salt chlorination to maintain pristine water quality, ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all.
